James Bolton, European Yew (Taxus baccata)

One of our most popular Christmas cards year after year. This botanical study in watercolour by botanist and illustrator James Bolton (1735-1799) shows a branch of the everygreen yew tree with its distinctive arils, berry-like structures that surround the seeds.
